Q: What interested you in the senior technical director role?

A: My interest in this role has really been an evolution of my skills and experience over the years. My wife and I often say that we’re both teachers and learners. At this stage in my career, I have the opportunity to share what I know while also learning from others, whether it’s collaborating with construction partners or engaging with emerging professionals as they grow in their careers.

Q: What makes you uniquely qualified for this position?

Q: What are some of your main goals for the role?

A: My goals center on continuous learning. We’re never truly finished learning, and I’m committed to continually expanding my knowledge and abilities in ways that strengthen not only my work, but the firm as a whole.

Q: How will your work as senior technical director benefit the Trivers team and its clients?

Q: What is most challenging about this role?

A: One of the biggest challenges is the learning curve. I’m very aware of what I don’t know, and that awareness keeps me focused on staying adaptable. I rely on my experience while remaining nimble enough to respond thoughtfully to new questions and evolving needs.

Q: What’s your favorite part about the position so far?

Q: What accomplishments at Trivers are you most proud of and why?

Q: You serve on Trivers’ Standards Committee, have served as treasurer of STLNOMA and are a member of the American Institute of Architects. Why is it important to you to be engaged beyond your day-to-day role?

Q: What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

A: Outside of work, much of my time is spent on projects at our own house, which are sometimes fun, sometimes a bit challenging. I’m also busy parenting our two kids, ages 10 and 7, which is a constant learning experience. I coach their soccer teams, and it’s been especially rewarding to watch our older child dive into music, drama and the arts. Supporting their growth in sports and creative pursuits has become a true passion of mine.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive or fictional, who would it be?
