The Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood is a historic and vibrant community in St. Louis, defined by its proximity to key cultural and economic hubs like the Delmar Loop and the Central West End, as well as strong institutional anchors such as Washington University.

Rooted in the legacy of the 1904 World’s Fair, Skinker-DeBaliviere has grown into a diverse, dense residential district with a strong sense of community and architectural character. Its stability has been reinforced by engaged residents, active neighborhood organizations, and prominent institutions that support its continued vitality.

In collaboration with HOK, our approach focused on revitalizing the neighborhood’s streetscape and public spaces through Transit-Oriented Development. By enhancing walkability and connectivity, this project integrates new development into the fabric of the community while preserving its historic charm.

The project includes 287 residential units and nearly 30,000 square feet of retail across two distinct buildings, contributing to the area’s long-term sustainability and strengthening its role within the broader St. Louis urban landscape.
