The Art & Design East building is a 47,000 GSF steel 2-story structure on the campus of SIUE. After undergoing an extensive interior renovation, including complete systems overhaul, and a new roof assembly installation, the remaining existing exterior envelope (most notably the glass block assembly) of Art & Design East building is an inefficient assembly by modern standards. By replacing this exterior wall system, the envelope will be much more energy efficient and better reflecting the needs of the users within the newly renovated spaces. Furthermore, aesthetic strategies on the new envelope will enhance the connection to the Art & Design West building, further unifying the Art & Design Campus identity.
