Lambert St. Louis International Airport Copper Roof Renovation

St. Louis, Missouri

Client: Lambert St. Louis International Airport

Size: 102,000 SF

Trivers Role: Historic Architect

Trivers was the historic architect consultant to Jacobs for a 102,000 SF copper roof replacement over four complex parabolic vaults. The original roof showed significant damage from wind and hail and was literally tearing itself apart due to the inherent softness and thermal expansion and contraction properties found in solid copper. The new bi-metal cold roof replacement roof system offered the increased strength and reduced thermal properties of stainless steel with the beauty and patination properties of solid copper. Our roofing solution found the intersection of historic authenticity, durability, and economy.
