Jubilee Community Wellness Center

St. Louis, Missouri

Client: Jubilee Ministries

Size: 51,000 SF

This project represents a complete renovation of the historic 1898 Ittner designed Eliot School to be repurposed into the Jubilee Community Wellness Center. The Wellness Center is strategically located in North Saint Louis’ deadliest mile where the Fentanyl addiction problem is rampant. Recovery and support services represent an incredibly significant community need, and will serve to support the expansion of Jubilee’s mission to:

“…facilitate a holistic approach to recovery and restoration of the human person, one that begins with addiction recovery, followed by recovery support (including housing and nutrition) as well as job training and job placement…”

Programming has been completed and currently includes Jubilee Welcoming and Community Spaces, Training and Fellowship spaces (including a commercial kitchen), Respite and Recovery Transition Housing, and a Crisis Clinic with Out-Patient and Counseling Services support spaces for ARCA, including an independently run onsite Pharmacy and Lab. This is a one-of-a-kind program with the potential to be modeled across the country to fill gaps in the current systems’ support of addiction, mental-health, and recovery.

Historic tax credits and other incentives will be used in conjunction with a development partner to maximize the funding sources. Additionally, Jubilee Public Works is expected to be a significant contributor to the build-out efforts as part of the creative ways in which this important project is being brought to fruition.
