Trivers was engaged by the St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) to conduct a feasibility study and conditions assessment for the historic Cleveland High School, supporting ongoing efforts to explore future redevelopment opportunities for the property. Constructed in 1912 and designed by noted St. Louis architect William B. Ittner, the building is a contributing resource within the Dutchtown South Historic District and represents an important example of early 20th-century educational architecture in the city.
Trivers evaluated the existing structure, systems, and site to better understand opportunities and constraints associated with potential reuse. The study considered the building’s historic character, physical condition, spatial organization, and adaptability to support future programmatic needs. Drawing on the firm’s extensive experience with adaptive reuse and complex renovation projects, particular attention was given to identifying strategies that balance preservation priorities with the flexibility required to accommodate new uses and redevelopment potential.
