Micro-apartments, Microbrewery fill out Developer’s Big Plan for Midtown

The developer behind the Steelcote Paint Co. Building redevelopment is taking a bigger chunk of Midtown with $24 million in new projects that entail micro-apartments and a microbrewery.

Pier Property Group will start construction in March on Steelcote Crossing, a $4 million rehab and conversion of the Columbia Oil Co. Building into 15 micro-apartments and a microbrewery or distillery.  Most of the units in the three-story, 17,000-square-foot building, south of the Steelcote building near Papin and Edwin Streets, will be 400-500 square feet but will feature tall ceilings and oversized windows.
