Broadening educational and career opportunities for St. Louis area youth through apprenticeships in the arts and through community collaborations has been the mission of St. Louis ArtWorks since its inception. Trivers has supported that effort by offering pro-bono architectural services as part of our commitment to The 1% program to help St. Louis Artworks consolidate its two locations into one flagship location. Adaptive reusing an original auto dealership and showroom into a collaborative arts and training space on a non-profit budget is at the core of the work. The expansion allows the organization to expand its capacity serving addition youth with arts studios, graphic arts studio, offices, a café, and a collaborative Maker’s Space. Continuing the progress of urban redevelopment of the East Delmar Loop, the revitalized building brings a new presence for the organization and gives area youth a safe refuge to learn, collaborate, and explore all while receiving a salary for their work.
