The Department of the Interior required that the structured parking adjacent to the Old Post Office, a National Monument, be obscured from view to protect the historical integrity of the site. The solution included contextual massing and a self-supported backlit translucent curtainwall system that both veiled the sloped parking ramp floors while reflecting the adjacent Old Post Office. This mixed-use development provides ground level retail space with parking above.
