As part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial redevelopment, Trivers worked with the National Park Service and CityArchRiver to select a new site for the Ranger Station. Situated on the park grounds between the maintenance building and commuter loop, the setting is a fitting place for the law enforcement to hold their tactical operations.

The Ranger Station’s primary function is to facilitate law enforcement on the grounds of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park. The new Ranger Station enhances their ability to detect and investigate violations of federal laws, apprehend and detain violators, protect life and property and be able to enforce all local laws and regulations. The new one-story building is equipped with detention cells, offices, locker rooms, a break room, bicycle storage, and a shared fitness center for all NPS staff.

The building was designed as Risk Category IV construction according to the International Building Code. This highest risk category includes buildings that, if severely damaged, would reduce the availability of essential community services necessary to cope with an emergency. Essentially, the new Ranger Station was designed to remain standing and functional in the event of a catastrophe.
