Another Boutique Hotel Planned for Downtown St. Louis

Excerpt from article featured in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on the renovation of the LaSalle Building, which Trivers is currently designing.

A developer from Chattanooga, Tenn., is planning a multimillion-dollar renovation of a historic downtown St. Louis building as a boutique hotel.  The hotel in the now-vacant LaSalle Building, at 501 Olive Street, would have 70 to 80 rooms and a restaurant, according to Neil Kapadia, principal of ViaNova Development, of Chattanooga.  He said Thursday he hopes the hotel will open in late 2017.

Trivers Welcomes Four New Employees

Trivers has added four talented employees to our growing staff. They include:

Samantha Gray, LEED GA is an Architectural Designer who received her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Kansas. She is a LEED Green Associate and is working toward becoming a licensed architect. She has experience with education and housing projects, and is currently working on The Euclid and 4101 Laclede.  Sam is also a member of Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals.

Michael Barkoviak, LEED AP BD+C is an Architectural Designer who joined Trivers after receiving his Master of Architecture and Master of Civil Engineering degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in December. Mike was a summer intern at Trivers, and we are excited to welcome him back to the firm full-time. He is currently working on the Noyes Lab West Classroom renovation project at his alma mater.

Frank Rosario, AIA is a Project Manager with over 35 years of professional work in the science of building construction and materials. His diverse experience includes new, renovation and adaptive re-use projects for corporate and institutional occupancies. Frank excels in pencil sketching and photography, and serves on the Meetings Planning committee of the St. Louis Chapter of AIA. All staff will benefit from Frank’s experience as well as his passion for mentorship.

Ross Welch, AIA, CDT is a Project Architect with higher education, housing and master planning project experience. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from Washington University, where he served as a teaching assistant and participated in the study abroad program in Buenos Aires. He is a member of AIA St. Louis and the USGBC Missouri Gateway Chapter, where he has been a Green Schools Quest Mentor. Ross jumped in with both feet serving as Project Architect for both The Euclid and 4101 Laclede – two of our most recent multi-family design projects.
